FIRST INDIAN MALE BOXER TO REACH THE FINAL AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
In an exclusive interview with CLIQTAX & Amit Panghal, Indian Boxer, talks in brief about his life, journey and his ambitions.
Amit Panghal was born on 16th October, 1995, in a village named Mayna, Rohtak District, Haryana. His father is a farmer and brother work in Indian Army. Speaking about his passion to join boxing, Amit see his elder brother Ajay as his idol, who inspired him to choose boxing as his career.
“I don’t think myself as a Star and I am same kid who still roam around in my village in my slippers and work in my field as and when I get opportunity. I have a roller coaster journey. I had faced many defeats but I never stopped and always faced the challenging situations with great spirit” Amit says.
Like many sport’s person, Amit also faced many challenges in his initial days. His family could afford boxing expense for only one child. So, his elder brother decided to sacrifice boxing and start serving in Army. His brother always ensured that Amit always keep playing & practicing.
Another power booster for him was Amit’s Coach, Mr. Anil Dhankar, who always supported him throughout his boxing journey.
“In national camp, we had Mr. Santiago Neva (Sweden coach for Indian boxers) who is really powerhouse of boxing and fitness knowledge” Amit added.
Amit believes that his family is backbone for him and has always supported him to pursue his career. His family always motivated him to pursue his dream and always stood with him, whatever circumstances comes.
Though Amit has won bronze and silver medal but Amit’s ambition is to win gold medal for the country.
“It is a really a proud moment to get a medal for the country but I am not satisfied with the bronze and silver and want to win the gold medal” Amit added.
CLIQTAX asked Amit about his success mantra and his advice to the millennials who want to be sports people be.
On this Amit said that- “Practice, practice and practice. There is no shortcut or other way for success”.
