In 2017, CorpAcumen started its operations with a team of qualified professionals. The idea behind the starting this venture was to provide one window service wherein for all legal and financial services. One of the main specializations of this entity is separate verticals taken care by separate partner(s) who is having expertise in that vertical, to provide smooth services with full transparency and accountability.
In a quick exclusive interview with CLIQTAX, Partner of CorpAcumen, spoke about this Venture CorpAcumen.
CT: Brief about concept of your business?
AC: In CorpAcumen Advisors LLP, we provide one window service wherein we tend to provide all legal and financial services. We basically have separate verticals taken care by separate partner(s) having expertise in that vertical.
We all partners were friends and working in different Consulting firms (2 of them were in there regular practices), since we were domain experts of each verticals so we thought to kickstart our own firm providing multiple services under one roof.
Secondly, a corporate after incorporation faces lot of challenges in coordinating with their financial and Legal Advisors, if they are from different firms and no one being accountable, if things goes wrong. Accordingly, our window service provide ease to clients along with full transparency & accountability.
CT: When did you started the business & what service do you offer?
AC: We started the business operations in April, 2017. We basically assist in the following domains:
- Transaction Advisory Services;
- Valuation and Financial Modelling;
- Start-up Support Services which includes Transaction management like Preparation of Pitch Deck, Business planning and Modelling support etc. and Regular services like Accounting and Auditing, Corporate Regulatory Advisory Compliance etc.
- Taxation, Audit and Assurance Service;
- Corporate Regulatory Advisory Service.
Also we have a Law Firm in the name of ACUMEN JURIS, wherein we assist our Clients in the following domains-
- Corporate M&A and Private Equity
- Joint Venture and Strategic Alliances
- Capital Market and Securities Law
- Foreign Investment & Exchange Control
- Dispute Resolution and Arbitrations
- Insolvency Resolution Services
- Employment & Labour Laws
- Real Estate
CT: What’s your company’s goals & few names of your clientele?
AC: We aspire to become top notch firms providing services to fortune 500 companies. Some of our leading clients are GMR Group, Sterlite Tech, Bira, Siemens, Urbanclap, Organic India, Kinara Capital, Urban Ladder, etc. These are few but the list goes on.
CT: Your Start-up is bootstrap or funded?
AC: Our business is self-funded and partners are providing financial backing to firm’s operations.
CT: How do you connect to your customers & offer your services to them?
AC: It is through Organic Marketing only. Basically, we believe that if your clients are satisfied, they will refer you to others and this is how you create your brand and acquire customers. Word of mouth is the best marketing tool ever.
CT: Tell us something about your Management Team?
AC: We have divided the team into two categories- Partners and Key Members. At present, we are four partners and four key members who are having enriched experience and are from qualified background which includes Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and Advocate.
CT: Do you work locally or nationally/Globally?
AC: We work Locally/nationally/Globally. Lot of our clients are from Europe, Latin America, China, Japan, Australasia, South East Asia and UK.
CT: What is the USP of your business & how you do things differently?
AC: As I said in pt. 1 above, the major challenges faced by the Corporates in Coordination with their Legal and Financial Advisors with zero accountability to the works assigned. We through our One Window Service, remove the above difficulty and let the corporates focus on their business. This has really help us in Scaling up our business.
CT: If you had one piece of advice to start-ups just starting out, what would it be?
AC: Build a Business Model and in case you don’t get funds, it could be EBITDA Positive in 1-2-year time. The business can be scaled up through investors funds but if in case funds are not received, it should at least sail through in a longer run.
CT: At Last, a few words you want to say about our CLIQTAX and your experience about it?
AC: CliqTax is a nice platform for Practitioners and I am sure in the times to come lot of professionals will be taking benefit from this platform as they would be getting assignments, clients, knowledge, jobs and what not from this place. In fact, the corporates too would get reliable professionals at a competitive price for getting their jobs completed within specific timelines in full transparent manner.
